Agent Authority Standards Institute the standard that can prove what it says

Wordmark & naming policy

The marks

  • Agent Authority Standards Institute and AASI name the steward.
  • Governed Agent Authority and GAA name the Standard.

The Standard's name is a neutral asset, held by the steward so that it is not any single vendor's property.

How the marks may be used

  • Lead with the full wordmark. Public materials use the full wordmark — Agent Authority Standards Institute, Governed Agent Authority — on first and prominent use, before any acronym. This is a standing rule, not a stylistic preference: it keeps the steward clearly distinct from similarly-abbreviated efforts in the same field.
  • Nominative reference is fine. Anyone may refer to the Standard by name to state a true fact — for example, “conformant to the Governed Agent Authority Standard” or “implements GAA §2A.” Truthful reference does not require permission.
  • Do not imply endorsement. No use of the marks may state or imply that AASI sponsors, certifies, tests, or endorses a product, a company, or a person, unless AASI has published a program that says so.
  • Do not alter the marks. Do not incorporate the AASI or GAA marks into a product name, a company name, a logo, or a domain in a way that suggests the mark-holder is the source of the product.
  • No first-party privilege. These rules apply identically to the founder's reference implementation and to every other implementer.

Naming-diligence note (stated openly)

A trademark and name search for “Agent Authority Standards Institute”, “AASI”, and “GAA” is pending. Until it clears, these are working titles and nothing here asserts registered rights. A preliminary, non-clearance scan found the exact phrase “Agent Authority Standards Institute” unclaimed; the four-letter acronym AASI is primarily associated with the American Association of Snowboard Instructors — a different field and trademark class. One same-field neighbor is noted for the record: a national-standards body launched an “AI Agent Standards Initiative” (2026-02-17), which shares the natural abbreviation and subject area; that effort is an Initiative and this steward is an Institute, and it does not brand itself “AASI.” The standing mitigation — lead with the full wordmark — follows directly from this note.
