Agent Authority Standards Institute the standard that can prove what it says

Version history

Every version of the Standard is preserved as a version of record — never deleted, never silently rewritten. Each entry names what changed and why; each staged or published revision is emitted through a governed flow and carries a seal an independent party can re-derive. A specification whose own history is verifiable is held to the same standard it specifies.

Sealed revisions are frozen at per-revision URLs (/standard/<rev>/). A frozen URL serves exactly the sealed bytes, with a status line naming whether it is current or superseded; an unknown revision answers 404 — never the latest text. The policy is written down on the lifecycle page.

Requirement IDs (GAA-*) are stable across versions: a citation of a requirement remains valid regardless of which section number carries it in a given edition. Cite the ID, not the section.

Each seal below is a chain id you can re-derive right now: select it and this page calls the governed ledger's public verify endpoint (verify.braas.dev) from your browser — a read-only GET, no key, no account.

Site act — ecosystem-face v2 staged (2026-07-30)

FieldValue
What it isNot a text revision — a governed act of the steward's site, sealed through the same flow the specification uses: frozen per-revision URLs (r1), this changelog with per-revision verify chips, the lifecycle policy, the documentation tracks, the GAP register, and the ecosystem map. The specification text did not change; r1 remains current.
Governed seal00ms81tnq1-f93679f07ef5b745 — the governed act "AASI staged ecosystem-face v2". Select the chain id to re-derive it keyless, in your browser. Sealing is not publishing — the site remains staged and private.

r1 — canonical itemized edition (DRAFT) — current

FieldValue
Date sealed2026-07-25
StatusCurrent. DRAFT — steward edition; the version number of record is assigned at first public release. Staged, private, non-indexed; nothing on this page claims ratification or adoption.
Frozen text/standard/r1/ (this revision, frozen — served with its status line). The living text: /standard/text, currently byte-identical to r1.
Summary of changeRFC-grade itemization of the prior steward wording pass: stable GAA-* requirement IDs on every normative statement, uniform integer section numbering, new §Conformance (consolidated) · §Security Considerations · §Registry · §References. A content-loss guard (statement-count parity) proved the transform pure: zero normative statements lost; two added, both in the new sections. Recorded as proposal GAP-1.
Governed seal00ms0lp62r-7bfe02863a4583ce — the governed act "staged the canonical itemized DRAFT", sealed into a tamper-evident chain. Select the chain id to re-derive it keyless, in your browser. Sealing is not publishing — this entry records a staged draft, honestly.

Prior — steward-edition wording pass

FieldValue
Date2026-07-24
StatusSuperseded by r1; preserved as a version of record in the steward's repository.
Summary of changeRe-voiced the specification under Institute stewardship (impersonal, normative, no vendor in normative text) and folded the full section set — vocabulary, agent classes, authority composition, the seven controls, the disclosure map, receipts, site-integration, cryptographic agility, substrate scope — into one edition.
Governed sealNone — this pass predates the sealed-revision practice. The practice began with r1 and applies to every revision after it.

Earlier published sections

The earlier per-section publications (authority composition; receipts; site-integration) remain versions of record in the steward's repository. The open reconciliation of the one overall version number is settled at first public release; requirement IDs make citations independent of that outcome.
